what degreaser to use for engine bay
One quick question. What engine degreaser do you guys use on your engine bay. My engine bay is kind of hurting my eyes to see because here on the island we get alot of rains and then mud and all gets in the bay not including dust that dries up in there. What do you guys use im planning to use simple green . . . .good or bad? Let me know on some comments I dont want to ruin my bay.
Simple green and pressure washer. Wrap up your distributor and any other electrical stuff you don't want wet. MAINLY the distributor. Everything else will be ok as long as you aren't trying to cut through wires on purpose.
if you head to your local auto supply store like pep boys or kragen or something like that, you can get a can of cleaner called 'foamy engine brite' I've used it a bunch of times before. It cuts through all kind of grease oil and dirt. The first time I bought it, was when one of the engine motor mounts broke and splattered grease stuff all over the side of the valve cover, I couldn't get it off with anything, eventually i tried the foamy engine brite, and it came out in 10 seconds. good stuff.

I would definitely try the foamy engine brite...I've used both that and Simple Green, and the foam really seems to cut better. Simple Green is great stuff, but it's not really designed to cut through thick stuff like that.
if you want some really strong stuff, get some amazing roll off. i usually cut that stuff 20:1 and it still kicks up some baked on stuff.
i need to get some of that engine brite stuff
i need to get some of that engine brite stuff
But theres a problem here. We dont have them Pepboys or Autozone its really hard for us to find wat you guys are using there because haaha its a small island. We only have Napa and ebay to look for stuff that we really want so maybe ill give that a shot at ebay. thanks for the replies all i will be starting to clean it up soon then ill post up pics thanks again. Keep the replies comin thanks for all the input.
