change your heading and someone may help you....i believe they will, but your much more likely to get a solid answer if your title was some thing like " Tein Springs from EM1 to DX Hatch possible?" then those who knows about springs and suspension will be available to help you....

See rules and guidelines for threads.

As for your question, the springs will fit. It's a matter of spring rates for the different cars. The spring rates for a 99 SI will be different than one for an EX/DX/HX - CX/DX hatch.

what the hell does this have to do with what he is asking??

yes they will fit, as said already the rates are different. so its not going to lower the car as much due to the weight difference.

i answerd his question what did you do????

he asked if they would fit,
and i was also letting him know that its going to lower the car as much. due to the different spring rates and weight.

what is has to do with is if you have spring for a certian weight (em1) and put them on the hatch that weighs less even a few hunderd pounds makes a huge difference in how the springs will work.

1997 Civic DX/CX hatchback w/five-speed manual transmission
Civic DX/CX hatchback 1,590cc in-line four-cylinder SOHC
Peak horsepower @ 6,200 rpm: 106
Peak torque @ 4,600 rpm: 98
Overall length: 164.5 in.
Wheelbase: 103.2 in.
Width: 67.1 in.
Height: 54.1 in.
Curb weight (DX/CX): 2,253/2,238 lbs.
Suspension: F/R Four-wheel double wishbone
Brakes: F/R Disc/drum power-assisted

bottom line...96 hatch dx weighs 2,253

vvv heres 97 coupe vvvv
Curb Weight MT 2271
Curb Weight AT 2337
Ground Clearance 5.9
Height 54.1
Length 175.1
Top Type (Standard) Hard Fixed
Top Type (Optional) N/A
Track (Front) 58.1
Track (Rear) 58.1
Weight Distribution AT (Front) 62
Weight Distribution AT (Rear) 38
Weight Distribution MT (Front) 60
Weight Distribution MT (Rear) 40
Wheelbase 103.2
Width 67.1
Doors (Standard) 2
Doors (Maximum) 2

so i guess it really depends if the coupe is manual or automatic..give or take 50 pounds..lets just say manual transmission... M/T 97 coupe weighs 20 pounds more then OP 96 hatch DX.

so your saying that 20 pounds is worth even mentioning that his car will sit higher? install a system in the car..bring your fat girlfriend with...both cars would sit the same.

there!!!...so in closing..what did you bring to this forum?...nothing but random guessing and unsure facts about weights and ride height.

he said em1 which is a 99-00 civic si which weights in at 2612lbs and a 96 hatch weights 2,253 so thats 359 lbs.
not 20lbs

if it was for 96-00 it wouldnt matter hatch or not. but its an si.

if they are from a actual si not just a 96-00 i would say about a inch. maybe a lil more.

this is what OP said ...96 and up civic coupe OR em1.

see that or word in there...it means either or...one or the other...NOT just stritcly EM1....and OP was just asking for fitment..not ride height.

now the correct questions are taking place... "how high will my car sit now OP said..." "are the springs for a 96-00 coupe OR an EM1."

these questions would not have came up if it wasnt for me finding specs on weight of the mentioned cars from the OP. so i guess i still do pee farther then you.

you better hope for the sake of your argument that OP says 99-00si...your question sounds like doubt to me.

well if you would answer my question we could helpp you.
if they are for a 96-00 civic they will lower the car 1.9 1.7 im guess thats what they lower to but not sure, it will be what tein said the springs will do

if its for a si bot that much because of the weight factor.

waaBAAH- look at the title to the thread title IT SAYS F****ING EM1!!!!!!!
and no its not prononced TAIN,

haha, it is 100% most definitely not tey-in. As mentioned earlier, it's tain/tane. It's one syllable and it rhymes with cane.

The other funny mispronunciation is Myoo-Jen. LOL

I have a BA in Japanese, so don't try to argue it

what everyone is trying to say and is saying is...

96-00 coupe is diffrent from an EM1 in terms of springs rates. but the springs will easilly match for your hatch

EM1 is 99-00 civic si

96-00 coupe is everything ...hx,dx,ex along with all the hatches,cx,hx.dx or whatever.

thanks so much for your help!
just one more question, it will still lower it at least an inch right?
