Background: 89 crx si converted to obd1 with a full GSR swap.

Recently my rex started throwing code 9 ( 9 short flashes). It runs like a champ (for the most part) not missing or anything. Kinda thinking that the sensor maybe took a dump on me? What are some other possibilities that could cause code 9? Never had this code before therefore i dont know what causes it.

Another issue that i have been having is vtec ingauging and disenguaging though out the rpm's (4100 and above). Its not throwing a code for this at all and oil is fine. Maybe the solenoid is going out?

any help is greatly appreciated.

 

not sure, but might be going in and out of vtec cuz of the code. from what i know of vtec it only works when the ecu is 110% happy, and if it THINKS one of the cams or the sensor is out of timing (or cylinders) then perhaps it's like eh no vtec for you! ya know?

 

Well I figured out what the vtec issue was. But still stumped on code 9

 

TDC?? you may need new dizzy guts, or start looking for a broken wire. make sure the ecu plugs on the obd0 to obd1 are snug.
