Icon6 Pioneer AVIC N2

Good day all! I have a 2007 Civic EX Coupe. I want to install a Pioneer AVIC N2. I also want to use the factory speaker wiring, however, when I look at the wiring adapter, there are only four speaker sets. Seeing that the tweeters are hanging out there with no wires now, what did you all wire them to? Thanks!

im pretty sure there are only 4 speaker pairs in every headunit aftermarket or stock, there isnt an extra 2 sets for tweeters.

which would lead me to believe that the tweeter wires tap into the speaker wire somewhere around the a pillar.

on another note, thats a pretty bitchin headunit. drop another 75 bucks for a nice pair of coaxial speakers for the fronts at least.

Default Infinity great sound!

Thanks, I have Infinity separates up front, Infinity coaxes in the rear, and after I put the Pioneer in, I will have a Memphis Amp in the trunk with an 8" free air woofer in the OEM location. It works pretty well, I had two 8" free air's in the trunk of my old BMW 318is with the same amp and it all worked really nice. I also used Infinity separates in the BMW.

Yes, all after markets have four wire sets, but the Civic has an extra two sets for it's tweets.

With component speakers, there is a crossover somewhere that makes sure the correct frequency audio goes to the correct speaker (higher frequency to the tweeter up top and mid to lower frequency to the woofer in the door). The crossover will have a single speaker wire set going into it from the head unit, and have 2 speaker wire sets going out of it. It sounds like the stock head unit had the crossover built into it.

I wouldn't run the tweeters without a proper crossover. If you do, the head unit will be sending sound that is too low in frequency for the tweeter and you risk blowing it (the tweeter). You should probably leave the tweeters disconnected for now and look at set of aftermarket component speakers to put in. The aftermarket set should come with a crossover for each side.

Good luck!
