Default question about staging..

i just got a question about staging a turbo car..

when im staging the car.. and setting the rpm to launch at 8k
the car will inch forward and i'll get the red light mostly all the time..
what casue this and what can i do the stop it form happening...
heres how i stage.. pull up the the first set of light.. pull the e-brake
let out the clutch a little until it grabs and creep to the second sets of lights
and set the rpm.. when i get the count down.. the car will inch forward..
and i'll get redlight.. well let me know why this is happening..
i driven many n/a car and i know this has to do something with the turbo..

are you sure your ebrake is holding? my car has rear drums and the ebrake wouldn't hold very well so i got a CNC stage brake and now it works great. otherwise, you may be preloading too much and draggin the rear tires. have someone watch the car as you stage so you can find out what is going on.

Are you holding the break the whole time you stage, set the lights and RPM? Be sure your holding it firm or you'll creep forward. Hold it firm till the light goes green. Or youre pulling the clutch too far out and "over pre loading" your brake and tires causing you to pull forward

hold e brake, then drop on the last amber. solves that problem. My car doesn't ever roll but my last car did.

its a simple fix . think about it. if u are creeping into the second bulb at low rpm & then u hit the 2step or rev up 2 8g it will pull u even harder. when u get ready to rev higher u need to push the clutch in a little more to compensate for the extra rpm.

this is what i do.
stage my first buld. wait for his first buld ( or he goes first)
hit my e-brake rev up to about 3500-4000prm let the clutch out just enough that it creeps me forward into the second bulb. then i push the clutch in a little more before i hit the 2-step. so i know it wont pull me forward from the extra rpm.
just enough for the clutch to chatter around.

remember when u lift a car off the ground & put it in neutral the tires still spin just from enursha. u dont need the front end lifting up your just killing the clutch.

hope it helps. but other probably do diff. works for me & havent broke off the line yet. with my stock trans cutting 1.6-1.7s all day.

i think your preloading to much if your draging the ebreak, just let the clutch out til it starts pulling you foward then slightly push it in.
