Default LSD transmission, good deal?

A mate just called me and told that a local shop's selling a JDM S4C LSD transmission, I could get it for 400 if I give them my non-LSD S4C in exchange. The price is in euros, but in general how does that sound? I haven't really seen JDM transmissions being sold separately so I've no idea about the general prices.

If I were to get the transmission swapped, I'd probably also want to get a new clutch & a lightweight flywheel, since my current clutch has 106k miles on it and is starting to slip a little. I was thinking Exedy OEM replacement for the clutch and a Fidanza 3.4kg flywheel, could get those from Tegiwa for 300 pounds, do those work well together and is it a good set? Installation for all would be a few hundred euros.

It'll be pretty expensive, but since I'd need to get the clutch replaced eventually anyways, I'm thinking I should jump on it. How radically would a lightweight flywheel and OEM LSD affect my car's performance, it's a 1999 EK4? Never driven a car with LSD but I've heard a lot of praise for them. Share your insights on everything about the subject, thankyouverymuch!

That's roughly $540usd, seems like that's a decent price to pay for an LSD tranny for sure.

Make sure it's in good shape before you install it and find out it isn't.

You may want to PM Danny, turbotypeR@SPEC and ask him his thoughts and ask him about clutch. You can tell him I sent you.

lsd is great.. i just got a mfactory lsd diff in my coupe. the only thing i have ever had problems with is the tires wear down lil faster. i alway use xtd ebay clutch never had a problem and with a stock b16 3 gear scratch all day. im not a fan of the lighten flywheel but it just depends on what ur using it for. I had one in my daily driver i got use to it but one could drive the car with out killing it at every stop.
just my 2 cent
