An Adams apple or a bulge in the crotch is usually a dead giveaway.

Great - now how do you identify a VX (and USDM CX) transmission from a DX / LX? They have different gear ratios - is there any way to tell from the outside?

haha i don't know that part, i wish i new, but i know mines a dx tranny cause the speed/rpm has hardly changed. the only way to tell is to pull the tranny apart and count the teeth. not worth the time and headache
