Blown Engine Help!!
My 94 Civic ex coupe has a D16Z6 in it currently, BUT has a blown head gasket horrible rod knock loss of power and it smokes terribly, what exactly is wrong with it and what parts need to be replaced if its even fixable
You already answered your question. The problems are the blown head gasket and rod knock. That would explain the loss of power and smoke. You need a new head gasket and rod bearings IF the crank is salvageable. Might as well look into a full rebuild or if you ever wanted to do a swap now would be the time.
Buy another longblock or prepare to build that one. Depending on how bad it overheated from the headgasket youll need a new head or block from warpage. depending on how bad the bearing is that spun youll need a crank. Not worth it to fix.
i'm in the same boat. my car started knocking after i sucked up some water. now i'm going to rebuild and turbo it but im looking for an extra motor to drop in first.
