got a 94 ls. planning to pick up a usdm/jdm gsr motor from hmotorsonline. was just wondering will i be able to get the motor bar'd. i heard you cant bar'd jdm motor. well thats i heard they cant bar'd jdm motor is that true or false? can someone here provide me with the right info?

well, jdm or usdm is ok now.
u will be able to bar both of them, as long u got all the usdm emission and the usdm ecu.

I know this really isn't the place for this question but i'm not sure where else to ask it.. I heard from someone recently that jdm motors aren't any faster then usdm motors... is this true? I've seen them posted as faster on the internet but then again it is the internet.

 

i guess its just cool to have JDM products

 

very true lol but is it worth the money and hassle of maybe not getting a working motor or one with a ton of miles?

 

jdm engines are virtually the same thing. both b18c's have more compression than their USDM counterparts, that's really the only difference. the true benefit to a jdm engine is likely lower miles.

if you really want to know, talk with someone at carb or drop by a ref station. as far as i know it's a swap into the like car. in other words a b18c is legal in a DC but nothing else
