poss cooling system problem. need info
is it normal for the rad. fan to come on like every 4-6 mins? .. cuz mine was doing that this one nite .. and im always having to refill my coolant everytime i go on a trip .. hr and half away and back and my coolant is low .. car be overheating sometimes and i jus fill it up and it goes back down .. is it my thermostat? .. any info would be great .. thx in advance ..
You should have shut the car off the instant you realized that it was starting to over heat. Now that it has over heated a few times the head gasket is probably toast, which would explain the loss of coolant.
top your radiator off, purge air from system using purge vent (if your car has one) then refill again. with the cap off, start the car and see if it starts over flowing.. If so, you pare pressurizing your cooling system because a bad head gasket / warped head surface.
Another way you can tell is make note of where your coolant level is in your overflow bottle.. Fill your radiator. Replace cap and beat your car for a few blocks (LoL).. check coolant level in the overflow bottle. (Just look) if the level has increased dramatically, you have blown your head gasket.

headgasket/ warped head the pressure of the leaking headgasket ( compression of the engine forcing antifreeze into the overfill)
It's normal for the fan to come that often when the motor is overheating. That's not a problem at all.
Are you sure you're using correct coolant? If it's an old coolant it might lose its effectiveness and also, if you're using more water than coolant, the water might evaporate and the car will overheat.
Other than that, whatever else has been already suggested. Try a new radiator cap.
