'93 b18a jumped time
Just got this car, pretty cheap cause it jumped time, about half a cam gear. I replaced the timing belt and the car cranks and idles but goes dead when you give it gas. I see round marks on top of the pistons but i dont see any broken valve debris. Compression test shows 0 psi but Im not sure how good my gauge is, it is kind of old but has always worked
Will it idle without much compression? Do stock pistons have relief marks you can see through the sparkplug tunnel with a flashlight?

well on my 91 the pistons do have cut outs for the valves, the gague is it a compression gague or leak down gague? With the car engine on disconnect the sparkplug wire listen very closely to the sound the engine makes. unplug it listen to the sound or have someone check how low the RPMs bogs. Plug it back and move to the next. if there is no sound difference then thats a dead cyclinder. the one that has largest RPM drop when you disconnect it thats the one with the highest compression.
When you say that you give gas and dies? ARe you holding the pedal down or do you tap the gas pedal and then release---dies?

Would it run if I timed it on the wrongstroke? It does nothing if I tap the gas. Dies if I floor it. Ima time it 180 out and see if it works before I say bent valve
