Post some truth about ebay headers

not heeding anyones warnings about ebay headers I bought one and figured I would tell my experiences so far.
I got it today and was expecting it to look nothing like the picture described but it looks exactly as pictured. it is from the seller GT_Racers and it was like $91 shipped. as soon as I pulled it out of the box I stuck a strong magnet to it to see if it was true stainless steel, and shock, it was. the flanges were weakly magnetic so it is not 100% stainless as they claim but it has nice tig welds and the tubing is pretty thick. I was in too much of a hurry to put it on that I didn't get any pic's but I will take some when I get a chance. it all fits perfect but for some reason mine came with 2 header to downpipe gaskets and bolts.

the only cons I have found is that when you are driving it smells and the heat made it go all bronze colored.

like I said I will take pic's when I get a chance and if anyone has any other questions about them I will try to answer. I also ordered a set of springs so another review to come.

Too late now if you didn't, but clean it off with a cloth before starting up. Otherwise everywhere you touched it will show up and then get baked on. It will most likely turn bluish and some purple colors. My chrome paint started flaking off after a year or so, but I think it was worth the $50 or so I paid. I didn't expect 20 ponies or anything like that, but it did respond a little better.

I agree about the not expecting much hp but unless the butt dyno is uncalibrated or getting interference from the placibo effect I have gained something and plus the car sounds better.
and yes all the places I touched are different colored but maybe I can still wipe it off but I kinda doubt it. are yours magnetic?

I didn't even check. Don't have the car anymore. Sold it for a 97 H swapped 5 speed.

I thought my header from ebay for my f22b1 was really nice for what I paid. Nice welds and nice all around. I did notice an increase in power, definitely with the header over stock (I had intake and exhaust already). Was fun, but went turbo soon after and there is no comparison after that.

What you are smelling is the gaskets. The smell goes away after they're "broken in." I wiped my egay's with a cloth with alcohol on it before firing'em up & it leaves them with a nice tint :D
But my sensless friend made the amazing mistake of licking his finger and touching them when they were hot..so now I have his identity on my pipe.

But i'm deff satisfied with my egay's for what I paid.
