obd2a distributor with obd2b si harness help!
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew how to wire this up correctly...I have 1 extra wire left over from the distributor and have no clue where it goes...it's blue with grey dots/circles around it....now I did notice on harness that comes in on the driver side that there is a wire that is the same exact colors but has a thingy on the end of it and just hangs out there if you will. Anyway a little about the car 97 civic dx converted over to 00 si...I mean completely the engine, floor, rear, underdash, indash, dashboard, rear disc brakes, front hubs, headlights, fenders, grill, and hood have all been converted. The motor is a jdm spec b18c that is obd2a and again using a 2000 si harness. Hopefully that wasn't to much information but I thought it best to get that out of the way upfront.

The wire is for the tach signal. OBD2B civics and integras get their tach signal from the ECU, OBD1 and OBD2A get theirs from the igniter in the distributor. If you are using an OBD2B engine harness and underdash harness along with an OBD2B ECU don't worry about the extra wire. If you're using an OBD2A underdash harness get an OBD2A engine harness.
Thanks for that info I did get the car running somewhat....you have to hold the key in the start position to run and it cranks on its own (no clutch depressed) in the on position? so I def. have a wiring issue...I did notice however that I do have a tach signal so I guess the dizzy is ok..I just wanted a obd2a to obd2b dizzy diagram to make sure the other wires are connected correctly. Wish me luck
