car starts while at idle it sputters and on the cam gear side it smokes up smells lyk fuel the car runs like crap i gas it and it like dies out wat can this be did the timing over has new dizzy new timing belt just did this mini me
no timing gun was used, just eyeballed the ish out of it. and yes sir the belt was tension up and even when i adjust the dizzy still does the same. i would have access to a timing gun tomorrow and im afraid to drive my car because it bogs out and it sounds like a piston hitting a valve
plus i guess its running really really rich. smell of gas left and right in my garage.
well ill just keep searching if it has to be timed different or need adjustable cam, cause you would have to do that on a Y8 head.

okay, so i figured out how you need to do your timing.
set the crank to TDC the same way you do on a normal D15B7.
For the head, you set the cam to TDC the way you do on a D16Z6.
Here's the difference. Use the top-right method.

Then put your timing belt back on and tension it by loosening the tensioner bolt 180º and turning the crank pulley counterclockwise so that the cam gear moves 3 teeth or so. Then tighten the tensioner bolt and you're ready to assemble the rest of the stuff.

thanks bro, but now i got another problem, today car was running perfect, til i get back home(car always messes up when i get home) it started to sputter again so i thought it eas my exhaust leak also sounds like metal hitting, clinging noise, so now i was bout to leave to my girls house and my car wouldn't start. I checked the dizzy and no spark, so i have a ACCEL coil blaster and i put on and checked all the fuses and still no spark. Ever since i dad the swap its being going bad one thing after another. Please help.
sounds like the valves but i think its coming from where my exhaust where it leaks. its leaking from the bottom of the top half where the down pipe meets up the other half of the exhaust manifold, and my bolt is stripped so i can't lock it up.
