Default Reverse lights never worked...

I checked the bulbs today, and they are still good. The reverse lights do not come on when put into reverse. Can this be caused by simple corrosion of the wires? Where should I check for this? i.e what is the most common place?

many thanks...

im also wondering the same thing.
an easy fix is to run a pos and negative off the battery into a switch into a bulb., then flick the switch when you throw it into reverse.
its a pita but its better than nothing.

Or if the wiring harness was switched for some reason, some models were set up differently(thats what I ran into with a DPFI-MPFI swap harness and had to repin the drivers side connector to make them work).

Right next to the O2 plug in your wiring harness, 2 wires black/green and yellow I think.

I have the same problem but mines is different. When I turn on my car and the reverse is not in gear, the light stays on through all gears and even neutral. When I slide in reverse, it will turn off and then back on. When I take it out of reverse, it cut off and then back on. So, it stays on until I turn off the car. I'm thinking switch is bad. Easy fix prolly. I hope.

Theres a switch at the transmission that will send power to the lights when it detects reverse has been selected. It's likely that the wires have simply come loose at the switch. What's less likely is that you'll have to replace the switch.

I had a weird problem where the switch was good, new bulbs, the bullet plugs were connected, and I tested the wiring all the way to the bulbs and it was all work. And my reverse lights have never worked for me for the 4 years I have had the car. My trunk light in my hatch has never worked either. It would only flicker on when I opened the hatch. So I took the hatch lock off and found out it wasn't grounding right for the trunk light to turn on. I fixed the grounding problem with the trunk light and it was working like it should. The next day I noticed that my reverse lights started to work
