High hp ignition ? Digital 7 vs. MW pro 10
what is everyones experience with both of these ignition boxes listed above? Im shooting for mid 700 hp. the digital 7 im looking at is not programmable. T1 sells the m&w pro 10 kit for $700 which is a great deal but i can also get a used digital 7 for $350 with harness and coil. I know going fast costs money but i am at the end of the build and also need money for a tune. Is it worth the extra $ to get the M&W.

I've used the DIS-4, but not the Digital 7. It worked fine and was cheap. Everyone that I know who is serious is using the M&W box though, and they all have nothing but good things to say about it. The MSD gets mixed reviews; I and others have seen too many of them fail. I'm currently using the new AEM Twin-fire, but will be replacing it with a M&W Pro-14 when I get my motor back together next month (I need a 4-channel, got rid of my distributor). Nothing sucks like a day at the track with a fried ignition controller. I normally carry an extra Twin-fire, just in case one smokes (like one did just a couple of months ago).
I know you are looking for lil more power than i have, but i have 643hp to the wheels and all im running is the digital 6 plus MSD and i have had no problems with spark cutting out or anything.
Hell, run the stock ignition and save up for the Pro10 if you have no need for the digital 7's extra features.. I like the simplicity of the Pro10, but I've also tuned a stock ignition car to 900+ hp..
