ur in a very enviable position..uve got *cash*...there s alot of hybrids out there to be had for a decent price..remember these cars are worth alot more to the owners than to u as a buyer...what do u want in a car? exactly..there s probably no car that meets all ur want list..so just find one that closest to it and finish off the project to ur liking.
this is very true. You obviously have a general idea of what you want the car to have cause you are looking to swap or buy a swapped car. Just find one close to everything you want and finish it OR buy a really high mileage car and build the car up to your liking. In the end it will be cheaper to pick up someone elses project but you run the risk of wondering how they treated the engine because everybody swaps engines for one reason, to go faster.
If you buy an already swapped motor have a leakdown and compression test done to the motor
(preferrably before you buy it) And that should give you a good idea of what condition the motor is in.
. Good luck

edit: just put a b18c and a d16z in a pair of EG hatches within two weekends. the b18 started on the first crank, the main relay in the d16 EG was dead, but after we replaced that (for ******* $45...damn honda!) it turned on and ran like a charm.
engine lift $150
mounts $200
help $50 for pizza, beer/soda/whatever
knowing you just built yourself a mustang killer priceless
