Default Crazy POS alarm & dead radio

I have a 98 Civic EX with a pos "alarm". Its been acting up, the alarm will not deactivate. Ill close the doors and drive off and 30 seconds later the alarm will go off. It used to turn off when the car was on. When the car was off and the doors were closed the alarm would self activate but not it does not matter if the car is on or off. This started when i swapped out my aftermarket radio for the oem one. The radio worked fine for one day but then it no longer got power and will not work. All the other electronics in the car work. All the lights, dome and map lights are fine, windows work, everything is good except for these two things. Is one affecting the other or are they both seperate problems? Ive included 2 pics of the alarms brain. The harness does not have all of the wires connected. 4 of the wires are not hooked up to anything. I have no idea of what most of the labels on the brain are. I know that the 12v is power and the GND is the ground but im lost on the rest of them. Any ideas on what to do?

Sounds like there is either a wiring issue or you are right about it being a POS. Save a good amount and buy yourself one you will be happy with and some toggle switches (to make kill/bypass switches). A lot of people like to install their own alarm system but I hate wiring after I did my swap so I would say just have a shop do it so you can blame them if anything goes wrong.

Also, I can't think of it at the moment and I am in a hurry but there is post somewhere, I believe it is sticky, that tells what all the wires are for. I don't know if it is universal. Best of luck to you.

Check your "back up" fuse under the hood, should be closest set of fuses to the firewall.
This runs the factory dome light delay in many Civics of that era, as well as the radio memory, which would also explain why your deck isnt working. Sounds like you may have more than one issue with your alarm, I'd see an installer about that. I could try to troubleshoot it over the net, but it would be "armchair diagnostics" at its finest.

first thing..... tos that pos in the trash and get something worth while. If you decide that you want to keep that. I have 4 of thoses brains lying around that you can come and get and program your remote to it. That alarm brain is used by many companies under diffrent names. Most are fly by nite companies. If you want to try to fix i can give you the wire codes. But they are labled right next to the pins
