Just bought a Integra
Hey just bought a 96 acura integra LS with 150k miles on it. I was curious to 2 things was this a good buy for one? And what are the known things that typically go out on these cars so i can keep an eye out? i bought this for 3500 it has h and r coilovers lil sound system which isnt bad and no engine issues as of yet and a cold air intake. Opinions, likes and dislikes are welcome. Thanks!
Nice looking car, not one for body kits but as long as you like it. Give it a nice tuneup and drive it till something breaks...
Check your trunk for water leaks thats the problem I had in both my 96 & 98 Integra.
Good luck!

I am not feeling the body kit but besides that, it looks like a great car.
One common problem is water leaking into the hatch. You will find many threads about this if you search. The tail light gaskets are the culprit. Best to check them out now using a water hose to the hatch when its not raining, than fixing it in the rain like me.
But besides that, I would check all fluids to see if they are good.
Also, if you haven't thought about it, please think about security for the car like an alarm.
Have fun with the car.

Get the 98-01 headlights that were designed for that bumper!!!! That's all I've got to say. You can pick them up from a company like certifit for relatively cheap, or some used OEM ones for pretty inexpensive as well. I bought a pair for $120! Then you don't have to roll around with those nasty gaps in there.
I don't like body kits, but if you were looking for a daily, don't worry about it unless it prevents you from picking up chicks.

Take the whole kit off, put the oem optional kit, plus an itr lip to an oem 94-97 bumper and you're good to go with picking up chicks. Thats at least what I would do if I had that car. Make sure that you do have H&Rs and not just red ebay coilover sleeves mounted on replacement struts from the auto store. Other than that, its your car bro, those are just things that I would do just to give you some options. If you like the kit, by all means, more power to you. Have fun with her.
They may have been put together with adhesive or bondo? Who knows what the previous owner did to do that lol
3500 is a good deal though. If you take care of the motor and the previous owners maintained it, you'll see a lot more miles out of it

Nice car minus the Molded front end. First thing you hit and goodbye to that bumper and fenders. You cant just repaint one part you will be repainting the entire front end
i love how the previous owner used 94-97 headlights with a 98+ bumper
. molding the front bumper to the fenders was also a bad idea. other than that, it sounds like a decent car for the price.

Thanks for all the input especially about the headlights i was wondering why he had a gap so bad. As for the kits yeah i hear yah on that i would love to change the front bumper and rear bumper but the guy molded them on. I told myself i wouldnt throw to much cash into this this is just my daily driver but i have a feeling im going to be annoyed into doing it haha. I just wanted to mainly make sure i didnt pay to much and learns the ins and outs of the bads. Thanks again!!
yeah for sure bro. All you need to do is get a pair of fenders from passwordJDM for $150 for the pair, and they already have the holes for side markers so thats a plus. Then get a 94-97 front end. Then just add a type-r lip or mugen replica to match the "lowness" of the side skirts for a finishing touch. Then finally, paint match it to the yellow, hopefully you know the color code. After all that, your car would be a good looking DD.
With a 150k on the motor i would highly recommend doing an R&R on the timing belt, timing belt tesioner, and water pump. Wouldn't be a bad idea to give it a good tune up: plugs, wires, distibutor cap & rotor, tranny & motoroil. Don't forget the camseal, those seam to be a problem on all B series motors.
looks good and price is right. If you want to look into stock bumpers you can find the 94-97 bumpers for real cheap since a lot of people swap them out for the 98+ bumpers.
