Ideally, your CRV will have transmission and power steering coolers to help dissipate the heat buildup. This is really beneficial if you must climb a lot of hills. Expect slower acceleration and longer braking distances. Turning is a lot wider as well.
The only limiting factor is your tongue weight - most passenger vehicles are rated for ~1500lbs. I'm guessing the CRV is close to that number. That roughly equates to 150lb tongue weight maximum. If you're using a tow dolly, it should be fine. However, some places (like UHaul) won't let you rent their tow dolly unless your car can pull ~3500lbs.
You could also set up the towed-vehicle with all four wheels on the ground, pulled by the CRV.

UHaul has hitches for your CRV rated at 2000lbs for the 1.25" receiver (Class 1) and 3500lbs for the 2" receiver (Class 3).
You'll be putting a lot of weight on the rear suspension - air springs may help keep the CRV level.

You probably can do it, it's just a question of how long before something gives out.
