Valve adjustment question...

I'm checking valve lash on a D16Z6 race prepped engine (SCCA ITA, .020 over-bored, etc.) and it's got the vtec pinned so it's always engaged, oil pressure sensor bypassed, hondata s100, etc. Anyways, do I need to worry about the fact that the vtec lobes are engaged all the time when checking the valve clearance, or can I follow the exact instructions and clearance specs in the factory manual? Or will it tell me that in the manual, which I haven't checked first. I did a valve adjustment on a non-prepped, totally stock motor, off the same shop manual, 4 years ago, and I thought I'd throw this out here first, so that after I spend 20 minutes down there looking at it, I can come back here and maybe someone will have answered me. TIA.

Yup, I'm an idiot. Valve lash adjustments are done with pistons at TDC on the compression stroke, as in ALL valves are closed, so it really doesn't matter about the vtec being engaged all the time.
Never mind. Ignore, lock, delete, or flame this post, I'll be out working on the car.

Yea, near TDC the lobes are pointed away from the followers so it doesnt really matter.
I don't even look at the crank or try to find exact TDC, I just turn till the exhaust lobes on a cyl are pointing up (cam base circle), then adjust that and the intake cyl thats also closed. Repeat x3
