Clutch/Tranny problem Need Help Please..
Hello HT,
I have a 2000 Gsr and my tranny or clutch is acting up. I was driving to the gas station and I was at a red light and I was trying to put my car in first gear but it wouldnt go.. I let it roll for a couple feet and tryd again but it was not getting into gear. So now the car only goes into gear when its turned off but when I try to start in First gear.. it just shakes and dies. Other than that in doesnt get in gear while its on
... The car is pretty much stock and I was not street racing.
If anyone knows anything about this or had similar problems.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The clutch is not engaging correctly. The problem you're describing is similar to what I experienced when the clutch disc on my tranny failed. So the remedy would be to pick up a clutch kit and replace it. Dont continue trying to drive your car. You'll only be doing harm to the transmission components.

The clutch can go out on you at the most unexpected times. Everything could be running PERFECT, then drop into gear and BAM! next thing you know .... its out.
I was thinking the same way you are right now....I changed my master and slave....didn't remedy my problem. Finally pulled the tranny down and what do you know....clutch disc had cracks on the plate preventing the clutch from disengaging.
