Default Pioneer DEH-P3000IB wiring problems!

alright i just picked up a Pioneer DEH-P3000IB. i wired everything to my main harness "correctly", or so i thought. i put it into an EF sedan and i had to wire everything myself as the old sony did not use the same type of plug connection.

everything works, including the remote, but the player doesnt always turn on when i put the key to ACC position. its weird because it will turn on every once and i while, but other times i'll hit ACC or even turn they car on, and still nothing, i'de have to turn it on manually, losing all my settings and having the cd start from the beginning.

The cd player DOES turn off when i turn the car off, so i know everything is wired correctly. The ACC wire and constant power wires are both labled clearly and are both wired to the corresponding colors on the harness.

I have no clue whats going on but its a little annoying as i have to reset my equalizer just about every time i turn my car on. any help would be appreciated.

its the constant power wire side test to see if that is the correct wire on the harness..if it is test if the wire is still hot when the car is off..

plus, everything is labled and i never had problems like this with my old cd player.

The only reason you would loose presets is a loss of constant power either in the cars constant power lead, [white w/yellow or blue tracer]... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf
could be a poor connection someplace or a defective fuse, replace the fuse with a new one to eliminate it as the problem, [yes, a fuse can look good but still not be] or the problem may be in the HU itself, where did you get the HU, was it new or used? 94

brand new at pep boys, there is a wire that im not using just because im not sure of what it is. its labled "system remote", but my remote control works even with this wire not going to anything.

are u talking about the fuse on the back of the player? or a fuse in the underdash box? another thing, could this be a grounding problem? the wireharness for the player came with a ground that was meant to be placed against something metal, rather than just going to the default harness ground. I DIDNT GROUND ACCORDING TO THE CD PLAYER. i just cut the wire coming from the player harness, and connected it to the main harness.

The constant power fuse is in the engine bay fuse box on most Honda/Acura, probably a 7.5A.

Because your HU has a "high power" 4ch amp I would recommend you rewire the HUs constant power, [yellow], run a fused 12ga lead from the batt. to behind the HU and connect the HUs constant power to it, don't forget to cap off the stock radio harness constant power, you will still need to replace the fuse if it is blown.

I would also recommend you run a 12ga chassis to chassis ground, from chassis of HU to cars chassis, dash metal sub frame will work as cars chassis ground.

BTW, if the 7.5A fuse is blown, DO NOT replace it with a bigger one. 94

A problem with the acc. would not loose your presets.

Leave the HU ground connected to the stock radio harness ground and add the chassis to chassis ground. 94

alright well update. i re-grounded the HU, ran a lead straight to the battery so its hot all the time. but now it doesnt turn on or off unless i manually press the power button. its only a little inconvience now but i keep all of my presets.

so i get in, turn on HU, turn off car, turn off HU....not bad and i can live with this! my presets stay the same too so im glad.

Did you also connect the HUs acc. lead, [red] to the lead from the batt.?
If so, rewire it back to the stock radio harness acc., [yellow/red]. 94

no i didnt, the ACC is still connected to the main harness. the constant power goes to battery, the ground goes to somwhere under the center console.
