Default my first exhaust... awwww

i've had my sync200 for a few weeks but finally got to make something for myself. i made a header-back 3" exhaust for my s2000 and hacked the **** outta my stock cat for the flanges.. HMT anyone?. i went with 3" because i will be fabbing up a kit for it shortly.

to be honest, i thought the car would be a cow with such a large exhaust on an NA motor.. but i raced an ap2 with the PW:JDM intake and i pulled about 1.5 cars on him. i raced another with a shortram/vafc/header and pulled about a car. from 15-100mph

either way, here are the pics.. notice how in the first few pics, its daylight.. in the end the sun is coming up LOL! it was kinda hard with only two hands and starting kinda late but i had no choice as i wasnt going to get the car off jackstands and drive to work with an open header. endedup finishing at 6:30.. take a shower and wake up at 8:30. it was worth it tho.

the pics are out of order, but w/e

btw, for those wondering.. my name on s2ki is s2mmkay

LOL yes thts a plastic table... It's all I had atm hence why I have a tile under so the plastic doesn't melt.. I'm in the process of cleaning up the garage so I can make a nice big table out of STEEL! Lol I haven't welded in a while cuz everytime I do, I have to roll out the jetski, move a bnch f **** out of the way and bring down the table, set it up, get a chair... At first I didn't care b afteb like the 20th time it got real old real quick.

That's cool that you did it yourself but those welds aren't very pretty. It's still better than I could do so I can't talk ish.

I had two 90s and a 180.. The piecuts didn't really take THAT much longer and I like the look

The only weld that came out semi ugly/fudged is the one closest to the camera in that pic the fitment was kinda off to aid in the angle I needed. The rest of the wends look fine and consistent.

Nice job on the diy exhaust. I recently bought a badass mig welder from Snap-On, so i can make my own exhaust, now. Or, anything i want, for that matter.

I dont think all those bends are necessary on the s2k exhaust...are they? I've seen some designs with very very few bends in them.

well... i could have made a more straight path but it wouldnt look how it does. most aftermarket exhusts for the s2k are SUPER crooked like almost sideways instead of pointing back and look like theyre in the middle of the car. there are a few suspension components i had to go around and under the axle so yeah its super crowded down there.

it also doesnt help that the can was like 15' long lol.. i would have gotten the more stubby can had i known they had one.

yes, i plan on boosting it in the VERY near future.. im fabbing the kit myself (or at least giving it a shot) s360/650's/AEM EMS/etc.. enough for low low 400's on pump and maybe 500 on race. but mostly this is for a DD/weekend warrior/occasional track day

I'm doing the same, I can't wait to finish mine up....but s360 and 650cc injectors? I don't think those should be in the same sentence lol. I'm picking up the ID 1000cc injectors and a walbro 255 pump from xenocron for $500 this week. Pretty good deal, you should check that out.
And throw up some pics of how it tucks under the car!
I'm going to be doing a 4" on my S, I hope I will still have decent ground clearance because my car is slammed!

Looks good and like the v-bands holding it together. Wish my exhaust was like that.

sorry i meant 750's lol.. remember im shooting for low low 4's maybe 5 on race.. im not looking for the 500-700whp s2ks out there running 1000+cc injectors are. MAYBE 500.. 475 and im happy.

it tucks nice under the car but thats why i had to use such sharp consecutive bends.. i had to go over the black bracket and under the axle and around the black suspension piece. i'll get pics tomorrow to show you what i mean.

nice!

3inch is awesome for an S. we tested a 3inch exhaust on a friends car, ap2 s2000. it picked up about 4ft/lbs from 2000 up, around 10hp peak vs a 2.5inch exhaust.
