I have it all installed and was wondering what you guys have done to secure it in the dash so that it doesnt slide out when taking off?

Nothing. It should just slide in and snap into place. That's it.

 

strange is there a stock cage that I should be using. Mine can easily slide in. there is no snap connecting mechanism in the stock dash. Anyone else

 

I believe that they have the typical 3 hole mount that slides back into a bracket and then those two pieces bolt together. Just for the record...civic radios do not snap into place, at least not in the older ones like we are talking about here. Good luck!

 

so far, what I have noticed is that on the sides of the 99 radio, there are wholes as if they are to be used for either bolts or some kind of securing device. Def not any holes at the rear for brackets of anykind

 

Then someone must have removed the rear bracket. Almost all honda radios are secured using very small bolts near the back of the unit. Take pics of the rear of the unit and put it on here.

 

does the radio just simply slide on those bolts? Is it actaully secure? If you need to pull the radio out, how is that done?

 

OK I just took a look at the helms manaul and apparetnly the stock stereo has 2 screw that go into the stock radio from the bottom. I have the holes and the screws, but the 99 radio does not have the screw holes. I wonder what the 99 civics used to hold this bad boy in place.

 

I am thinking that the mount may have bolted to it, and maybe it was removed? Just an idea...

 

thats exactly what im thinking. like its missing the radio cage for the 99 radio. I will have to just Fab something up i guess.

 

Ok, found it. we were right you need that specific cage. check out page 6. Unfortunetly, that cage will not fit into 94 civic. I will have to just make it work.
