jdm h22a idling is fine except when..
it idles fine, but when the car sits at a stop for too long or when i turn the high beams on, or when using the a/c.....the idel will drop considerably low. that's the alternator right? is mine getting old? hmmm let me know what you guys think. thanks
I think you should take it to an autoparts store and get them to test your battery and alternator. If it's not your alternator(which it probably is), then worry about what it could be.

its your battery...mine just went through that. burned a starter out and a main relay....it was a shitty day. Go get a new battery before that gets worse. I had the exact same symptoms then BAM! one day my **** doesnt turn over. All i needed was a battery with enough cold cranking amps to do what it had to do. i waited too long.
okay, i'll have my battery and alternator checked by monday afternoon. As far as alternators, the jdm h22a alternator should be the same as the motor on the 1992 prelude Si correct? i'm thinking all the alternators for the h series are the same? how about the F series. just in case if it was my alternator, i'll change it, but i need to know if it's the same. thanks
i put my 97 SH alternator on my 94 jdm. i'm assuming they're compatible. you'll have to do some checking for the f series. i wouldn't be surprised if they worked.
Glad i looked at this because since its finally getting hot out i've been using the A/C and noticing as well that my car idles extremely strange when i kick it on and i saw about someone saying his starter went out and mine i think is going bad because i went to start my car up the other day and it wouldnt and i wasnt a happy camper so glad i came along this. Thanks cause i'll be going to adavanced auto on monday to get the battery and alternator checked out!!
