check the wiring could be a slight peoblem may not have something hooked up right. could be the two wires on the main dizzy plug. blue/green and blue/yellow. they could be switched.

alright now im getting really mad.did some looking online and the sensor isnt even in the dizzy on obd2 cars, its on the oil pump. o.k. so im being led to believe that two companies said it was ok to do this and i have no crank angle sensor hooked up.because i dont think its in the msd dizzy, because its for obd2 ,which is on the oil pump.and neither company said anything about the sensor location change.have to look and see if i have another plug floating around without anything plugged into it.
i dont want to point fingers yet because i need to contact them but i swear to god if this is another woops im going to be pissed.

the crankshaft position, top dead center and cylinder position sensors (CKP/TDC/CYP) are all in the distributor for the OBD2 B18C1, as they are in the OBD1 distributor - the sensor on the front of the crankshaft is the crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor (CKF) and isn't used for OBD1 - on the OBD2, the ECU moniters the crankshaft speed fluctuation based on the CKF sensor signal, and judges that an engine misfire occurred if the fluctuation goes beyond a predetermined limit

this is what hapens when im left to my own devices, lol.called hasport and msd and going to check wiring at plug to make sure they match up.if they do then dizzy has to be sent back to msd.and for the record both companies were more than helpful with my problem.
also thanks for the info jlicrx i was thinking msd hadnt put the crank angle sensor in theres which isnt the case, and i would have to use the other one which turns out only to be a secondary sensor like the downstream o2.

talked to the guys at hasport and have it down to b10 and b12.so i need to check with voltmeter,if thats good then swap wires and see if it improves.if it doesnt then its back to msd for the dizzy.my hat is off to the guys at hasport for going above and beyond,to make sure there customers are happy.truly hardcore honda lovers ,no doubt.

on the OBD1 ECU, the crank sensor CKP (code 4 on ECU) wires are at B15 and B16 - the cylinder position sensor CYP (code 9) wires are at B11 and B12 - B10 is the vehicle speed sensor VSS

i dont remember correctly but a few months ago, i bypassed the ckp (well the one at the oil pump) with the cyp..i used another wire and bridge the 2 wires together at the ecu plug and code went away..smogged the next day and passed..hope im on the correct topic :O (it was a 97 civic stock)
