Default 95 civic coupe B16 swap

I need some help honda-tech family members. My cousin is giving me his B16 motor out of his si for my birthday =D. The motor is fully fixed up and all motored with toda after market parts. I know myself that I need a new transmission due to my sohc non vtec transmission, along with a engine harnest, new ECU since I'm running Vtec.

The guys at the local shop said I need a hydro B16 transmission why is that? I saw a used one for 900 bucks and my jaw just dropped
I'm looking forward to dropping a lot of money. -_-

by the way here are some pictures of my cousins car

this is before when it wasn't painted, as you can see his motor and turbo.

so hes giving you a boosted B16?
and your coming from a (guessing) d15bx?
there's a big power difference, something to get used to.

The reason your car needs a hydro transmission is because that's what the clutch uses to engage, as opposed to a cable drawn clutch, seen in older style civics, crx, integras, ECT.
you've got a slew of choices, you can use a transmission from a b16a2/3 or a b18c1/5.
i suggest these instead of an LS transmission from the B18a or b18b, due to them hindering performance.

your also aware youll need new axles and new motor mounts too right?
these can be pulled out of any 94-01 Acura integra, or purchased new from a dealer.

The ls motor has longer gears and usually runs for around 2-300 depending. It will slow you down unless you got stupid power to begin with. Personally I would prefer a ls if my b16 was turbo'd and making around 350hp. If your going all motor I would def go with the b16 tranny and try to get that factory lsd with it also. If your getting the motor for free, just drop down a good amount for a GOOD tranny, yeah bout 6-900 bucks. Even though I've found several b16 swaps for 1-1200. I would probably buy a cheaper b16 tranny and have it rebuilt and a lsd installed.

he's giving me a fully built motor with 100k miles on it as a birthday gift. I had my brother persuade him at work for it haha. I'm aware of the motor mounts but i didn't know about the axles. My cousin suggested to get the B16 transmission, but his other buddy suggested the hydro b16 tranny. They also told me good luck in finding one haha.

This is going to be an all motor car. Yes the motor i have in my civic is a d15b7. I'm still pondering over this if I want to drop this amount of money.

So what you're saying nix94delsol that the motor mount and axle can be pulled from a 94-01 integra?

and what about the ECU since i'm going to be running vtec
