I'd day it depends on you, I would personnely set it at 5800RPM or 6000 but maybe you won't feel comfortable at those RPM's.

I'd take that back! I'd set it at 4000.

It's not that they are crappy, it's that they are meant to be used with built engines that would benifit from moving the VTEC engagement point to a different rpm.

Your engine does not need the VTEC point moved. It won't do anything good if you do.

personally i think on a stock motor honda sets their vtec rigth where it should be. so for me i would not mess with it. but i def. would not set it at 4000 because thats way to low.

This isn't a "negative" post, this is just being realistic.

The whole point of vtec is to open the intake valves more, keep them open longer, and to inject more fuel. By using a vtec controller, all you're doing is letting more air in. Sure you'll hear it...but it won't be doing **** all. The ecu doesn't know this is happening and isn't changing the fuel/ignition maps to match the air flow. Long story short, get some cash and buy yourself a proper ecu. If you want to muck around with the vtec engagement, get it chipped.

Put your car on a dyno, and find out where it should be set. Any other way would just be guessing.

x2, all moving a vtec engagement point down blindly is good for is making noise.
