Default First time aluminum welding

First time ever aluminum welding with a Kemppi mastertig :D



Was fun :D

Lower pic should be rotated 180deg, so the start is on the left on that picture.

yeah, second is much better. Alot more fill, and looked less cooked. Appears to need more cleaning action though and better prep. Aluminum is tough and takes alot of work to get good at. Heat control is harder, bead consistency is harder...etc. Keep trying.

Actually that was easy as cake to do and lots of fun. Yeah it was just brushed with a stainless steel brush, nothing more.
I need to get an AC powersupply for my Tig :D

Not bad, I'd run beads on a flat aluminum plate for a while till you get the hang of it....and an AC supply would definitely make it easier, lol

I've done iron and little stainless, but aluminum was new for me. I was really amazed how easy it was, but I'm sure my previous experience did help.
