I had just put a new single cam in my civic and now the motor will not rev when I give it gas. Would that be the TPS? Please let me know. Thanks

 

Does it rev slowly or does it die when you try and give it gas?

 

it sucks air into throttle body but will only rev to about 1000 rpm. Idles perfect no smoke and just a temp code on ecu.

 

Did you have to convert to MPFI? What motor specifically, which ECU?

 

well i had bought the car with a spun rod bearing( it ran great till the motor took a ****) so i put a new d15 back into it. It is all multi point injection and same ecu that was in car when i had got it. Th car starts and like i was saying idles great. No miss fire, No ticks or odd noises. First time i have been stumped this bad.
I realy want to say TPS but throwing no code. Thanks for helping!!!

 

if it were the tpa youd get a code no matter what. check to see if you have any vac leaks. around the manifold did you check timing, and do you have the spark plug wires in the right order

 

are there any updates on this? i'm having same problem.

 

maybe ur throttle cable isnt tight enough or maybe its to tight so it has nothing to pull on......

 

could it possibly be a fuel problem? do you have fuel pressure?

 

i was thinking the same thing as i read this post.
