From looking at it? The most obvious would be that the bumpers are different.

here is a link to the FAQ, which is stickied at the top of the EF forum page:

Here comes the aeroplane! Straight from the FAQ:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/ef-eg-hf-si-definitions-1519636/

If that doesn't help, then try asking a more specific question.

DX has a wiper. bumpers are painted. it says DX on the back. Steering wheel is different. There is a shift boot. Some have a clock, passenger rear view mirror.

it is not too hard to tell them apart. the biggest give-away is the rear wiper. oh, and the reflective civic garnish on the hatch.

don't even bother asking what sets an Si apart from the other two... seriously...

STD has vinyl seats. 4 speed transmission, D15B1. Black bumpers 88-91 (90-91 DX has colored bumpers), black rear filler piece. No rear wiper. No center console plastic thing, just a rubber boot. Steering column does not tilt. No cargo cover and no rear speaker trays. No intermittent wipers. No cigarette lighter. No 'luggage area light' (the interior light in the trunk). That's all I can think of for now...
