piston ring compressor wont tighten up?why?
ok im putting in my pistons right now and when i put i compress it with the piston ring compressor it wont compress all the way. i tried holding it moving up and down to level it and it still wont tighten up the rings so it wont even go down the sleeves.

Make sure the oil ring isn't overlapped!!! Some ring compressors will make a funnel shape when tightened. This may be why it looks likes its not tight. You may also be out of its range.
Sleeve compressors are the best but pricey and hard to find, this type is cheap easy to find at any AP store. The edge goes into the bore a little like a sleeve type compressor to keep the rings from hanging up, it also makes it perfectly square with the bore. The pistons go in very easily for me every time I use this thing.
