Cable b16 Into Cx ?'s
Does anyone have a first gen b16 in their cx? I have boosted my engine fund a bit and I'm not really patient enough to keep saving up for and SIRII. My concern is that someone told me to put the cable b16 into a 92-95 you have to add things to make it work, one thing mentioned was fuel injectors. I'd like this to be as simple as possible so any help or tips or warnings would be much appreciated.
try hasport they make a kit to use the cable tranny in a hydro car here is the link http://www.hasport.com/mountkit.html
I went the cable b16a route for my 95 hatch. I honestly recommend saving up the extra money and buying a hydro b16a. After you pay for and find all the necessary parts to make the non-obd engine run in an obd-1 car, it nearly adds up to the cost of a hydro swap. It's also less of a headache to go with the hydro swap, because all the parts you need are right with the motor.
How much were you quoted for a Hydro b16a? If you still decide to go with the cable b16a, i'll give you a list of parts.

Nobody is correct.
By the time you source the correct ECU, distributor, the mount kit, correct axles, rear bracket, etc. needed to make the first-gen swap work,
you could have bought the whole Second-Gen hydro 170hp B16A for:
$2,350.00
From http://www.hondamotorsonline.com
More power, better clutch feel, lower miles, less hassles with crappy cable tranny, etc. with the hydro version.
The HASport kit alone is likw $600.00 or more with the mount(s) and cable-hydro convertor.
If you want a total breakdown I can give it to you when I have time.
Let me know.

I have gone 1st gen cable B16 twice in my two different civics. In total you will end up spending about $1800. I'll give you a quick brakedown. This is an estimate. Here in Cali you can get parts cheaper too.
1st gen B16 motor and tranny........$ 950
p28 Ecu chipped to B16 spec..........$ 200
Shift linkage from 94+integra.........$ 100
Axles...........................................$ 120
B series obd 1Dist.........................$ 150
Hasport hydro to cable conv kit......$ 225
Total Est: $1745. It can be done cheaper. You can just buy a place racing cable tranny to 92-95 civic mount for about $150 but you will have to fabricate a way to get the slave cylinder to move the clutch release lever up to release the clutch. I have so far done 3 of these swaps. Two of my own and one for a friend. I recomend you just save up for the SIRII swap instead. For a couple of hundred bucks you get a newer motor and tranny and a lot less headaches.

Seems a few of us agree that getting the second gen is a lot less of a headache, I feel thats worth spending $400 dollars more. Not only the price issue, but the fact that you get 6 more ft/lbs of torque and 10hp.

By the way, nice Sig, B18c5.

The only thing that I like about the cable trannies is there wide selection. I like the S1 tranny for it's gear ratios. They are very close. The 5th gear sucks though....but that is why we have the LS 5th for.
damn too much respones... im too lazy to read it.... its really not that expensie...
how much i've spent
injectors= free(SOHC) still 240cc
dist=$100
b16a=600(dec 2000)
ECU=$150(95 gsr)
gsr tranny=free(buddy owes me a really BIG favor)
gsr harness=$100(use SOHC vtec, much neater)
axles=$150
stock clutch=$80
thats all i can think of right now.... remember this was in dec of 2000 now you can find parts that are cheaper.....

The cable trannies form what I've seen are so hit or miss.
I don't like them simply because I've seen too many that grind stright off the boat.
Here's a thought:
My pal had a Second-Gen (hydro) B16A swap in his 1992 DX hatch. He dynoed 152whp and 102ft/lbs. of torque. This was stock airbox, DC 4-2-1 header, 5Zigen exhaust, and a re-chipped P28 ECU - nothing more.
Compare that to the weaker numbers of the first-gen (cable) B16A numbers i've seen like 135whp and 97ft/lbs. of torque and that alone is worth a few hundres extra bucks for the numbers.
