Yeah interesting question, I dont know the actual answer. I would guess that it would make zero difference in insurance price, because having a car with a salvage title doesnt mean its more at risk of insuring. I dont see any relation, if anything it should be less because your car is worth less, But I doubt that.
bad in resale, and no insurance diff.. but if your getting a salvage title, ied make sure that it has no frame damage. that could cause to major miss alignment and constantly getting new tires.
it could also be a stolen recovery.. somone stole the car and stripped it, owner did not want the car and junk yard claimed it... somone else bought the car from the yard and put everything back in, showed the dmv that it was back in running condition, and got a rebuilt salvaged title issued for the car.....
so check, if it has frame dmg, i wouldnt suggest in getting it,, if its a stolen recovery, then all means, go for it,, wouldnt be any different in that as if you were to take your motor out and put a different one in.

Yeah it apparently had a front end wreck back in 2001, but its been driven like 100k since then. Sitting at 168k now. So i'm sure it was just claimed as totaled, then the owner replaced the messed up fenders, bumpers...etc and just has beend riving it ever since. Doesn't see m too bad for plus im getting a pretty good deal.
it only effects resale to people who need loans. banks will not lend for salvage titles. some salvage titles are great buys. my DC for example had the interior and airbags stolen in 1999. back then it was enough to write the car off. the ones i would avoid are cars that have been hit HARD without records of being fixed at a real body shop.
I have had two cars with salvaged title. A 93 Prelude and now a 98 civic. My insurance always seemed to be about the same. Right now I pay 50 a month for liabilty and uninsured motorist.
insurance cost will be the same, but if something was to happen to the vehicle the insurance wouldnt pay you the kbb for the car on most cases because of the salvage title.
Also, some insurance companies won't fully cover a salvaged cars. The ones that do fully cover one, I think the premium is a little higher. When it comes to liability, its the same as insuring a clean title vehicle because they aren't paying for the car if it's stolen or totaled if it was your fault.
Fo sho man, first time in a TEG. Holy ****, now i know why ever one like them so much besides the looks...Anyways, i'm happy. Well until i get it in my hands this saturday that is.
