Salvage Title Question

Salvage Title Question
I'm sure some of you have cars with a salvage title and I am wondering how does insurance work with that? I am looking to but a 99-00 Civic and have come across a lot of civics with salvaged titles that have been restored and look original. I am worried about insurance though, I have AAA.
Can you get full coverage? Extra fees?
Basically how is it different from a clean title car being insured.
Thanks

Re: Salvage Title Question (BeBe)
Call your insurance up and ask them. All companys are different. Most will still accept salvaged titled cars as long as they meet certain specs. Just make sure you dnt pay full price for a salvaged car. Cause it is always going to be a salvaged car no matter what you do.

Re: Salvage Title Question (BeBe)
most companies will not insure salvage title cars.. or if they do, they only will insure liablity.. if you do find a company to insure the full coverage expect to pay alot more.. cuz if it gets hit again it could cause alot more damage..
main thing that sucks about salvage cars is the resell price is alot lower, because NO banks will lend money out on a salavge car.. so you have to pay it in cash

Thats BS...as long as the car is repaired and passes state inspection its like a normal car...it just has a "history"

In CA its not BS.
Banks will NOT finance cars with a salvage titles. Well atleast any bank worth getting a loan from will not. There may be a bank or 2 out there that will but I'm sure if they did you would pay a serious high APR and have to have lots o money down.
99.9% of insurance companys will not offer FULL COVERAGE on a salvage car. You can however get 1 way (liability) on a salvaged title car.
I used to work for AIS, we delt with over 80 insurance companys, so I know what I be saYin y0
