Default f22 bottom f20 top

I recently hydro-locked my motor, and insurance is buying me a new one...I've found an excellent deal on an ap2 engine and transmission, and I want to use the head from my 2001 model. I would use the ap1 ecu, and get it tuned fairly soon.
1. I guess my question is: is it as simple as bolting the ap1 head on the ap2 block, and enjoy the extra torque gains?
2. What kind of power gains would I get?

I've searched and searched, but all I can find is hypothetical stuff...I hear people have done it, and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting in over my head if it required heavy modifications.

thanks a lot,

brent

heads are the same
Cams are different.

06 and up are DBW

so just use the whole ap2 motor and put the ap1 cams in.

Drive by wire - Pretty much the throttle cable is replaced by electrical wire and it's not mechanically controlled...I think that's one way to put it...

Use the complete AP2 motor or do what u wanted to do AP2 short block with Ap2 head, you will have to change and use your original '01 harness and the AP1 intake manifold with all the sensors otherwise is the same.
