My car won't go into first, second, fifth or reverse. I was driving a little hard on the free way and when I came to a stop my shifter went soft. When it's in gear you can move the shifter back and forth the whole length of the shift boot.

The clutch and transmission seem ok.

 

I went out and looked at the car it seems like it has something to do with the shifter.
