I just finished putting in my b18c type r swap into my 99 ek hatch. I have the jdm 4-1 header with the 2.5" collector, I took it out for the first time today and it is LOUD!!! I imagined it would be but not that loud! I don't have the money to get a full exhaust built but I can weld so I want to make my own somehow. I want it to be as quiet as possible. I was just going to put a two foot section of 2.5" tubing and a turn down but I think that might still be too loud. Any suggestions on a very cheap way to quiet it down but also be functional and still make power would be greatly appreciated. I want to keep it 2.5", and use parts that I can actually find. Thanks a lot guys!

 

look just buy the ws2 by apex'i perfect exhaust for your motor and it shouldnt be no more than $500

An 18 inch resonator and oem style muffler. Less than 75 bucks brand new...

I agree. Make sure to use a resonator and don't use a straight through can. The OE style makes a huge difference.

 

Word. Great exhaust I should have bought YEARS ago.
