Diffrences in JDM D15B & D15B7?
well i read the question wrong i thought you were asking which one would i take...sorry for the misteak!! but here are some specs on both.
i do belive that the JDM motors are stronger....dont quot me tho!!

Internally they are very different; different heads, different crankshafts, different pistons, different rods. The D15B might be "better" in the sense that there are far more aftermarket parts available. Try searching for aftermarket connecting rods for D15B7, and then try searching for rods for the D15B. Since the D15B shares the same rods as the D16Z6, there are more options available.
Ok, i know the head is better but the internals of the block only. compared to the b7 and z6?
Oh ****, and the PM3 pistons are d15b7's only? because when i had the head off it had pm3 pistons. does this mean its not JDM pistons?

Look, I'm not asking power because my set up is WAAY different than the dam full D15B setup. Its running a Y8 head and p28 ecu.
My reason asking is because i wanna know if I'm safe when I'm doing 7750RPM shifts, I felt safe with the Z6 block but im aware this one is a little different i need to know if the internals can take high rpms or not.

If I'm not mistaken, there are also D15B blocks that are literally the same as a D15B7. I had a replacement motor in my EF when I first got it. It was stamped D15B but it too had PM3 pistons in it.
isn't that weird? why would it have usdm pistons? and did you get your from japan?
Reinforcing those who indicate they know that there is both a JDM D15B vtec and a JDM D15B non-vtec. The non-vtec block and head are similar or identical to the USDM D15B7. I have a 92 Del Sol running on a VTEC D15B JDM motor and i have been searching rebuild kits on ebay for upgrading to forged pistons and rings etc. however most of the rebuild kits are not compatible with the "JDM" D15b VTEC.
According to other blogs, researched that if there is no number on the engine ID (i.e. D15b1 D15b2 D15b7 .....) the engine is Japanese If I am not wrong?
So i need to know which one of the USDM rebuild kit would be compatible to the JDM D15b ?
