Default grounding your motor for more power?

Someone told me the other day that if you make all the grounding points on your motor bigger gauge wire like 1 awg or something that it will help your car out a lot. does anyone know if this is true and if it really matters? sounded dumb to me but i dont know...

ha na i didnt even think of that. i went to get remote start on my car and the dude was like " I use to have a B18 and i upgraded all my grounding and I could tell a difference, because it holds more voltage throughout the motor." I was like o yeah thats cool. but **** no i would never pay for that i can get free ground wire from my shop. i just figured i would ask.

Your engine will not gain any more power by doing this. It's good for audio systems though.

the guy with the b18 was screwing with you, the only thing that you would gain from this is a better ground for audio.

It will help your car start a little smoother. I put a grounding kit on my car, and the dash lights no longer dim when I flick on my rear defroster. But even if it did help "free up" horsepower, it wouldn't be anything you could actually feel regardless.

Yeah grounds are often overlooked. Its something I will be doing sometime. Just get some scrap amp wires and replace em. If nothin else it'll at least look better than the old factory grounds.

Yeah I agree with these guys, a grounding kit won't free up anything HP wise you could tell if any at all.

Now if you really want cheap and easy HP..you need to go get some ACP or your favorite stickers..the more stickers..the more HP.

plus the stock honda grounds suck. they just place the grounds over the paint. I kept my stock grounds. I cleaned them up ,cleaned and stripped the connection points to bare shiny smooth metal. I noticed easier start up and lights werent has dim.

well i have to disagree with ya...a good grounding kit will do more then just make ur lights brighter(theres a reason ur lights get brighter) better grounds=easier flow of power (b+) which means a lot on a car thats ran off a ecu (if it was a 79 chevy truck maybe not)
