Default 84mm b16

Ok here's the deal I have a b16 block that has a big chunk out of the a cylinder wall and Im thinking I'll have to bore it to 84mm. I have eagle rods and were wanting to run some rs 84mm itr pistons (the only cast(aka cheap) pistons that will fit eagle rods). The only rs piston the will fit the eagle rod is 84mm-85mm. The only place I could find em is out of stock on the 84's. Do you think I could run the 84.5 for all motor purposes, and a small shot of nitrous. Or is that just too big, I seem to remember 84 being pretty much the max.

Thanks, brett

82mm is absolute max on stock block, for NA use. I would not go past 81.5mm on a FI setup. Anything more than this needs a sleevejob.

Yeah thanks guys. So do you know of any cast pistons that fit eagle rods in 81.5-82mm. Also is it possible to resleeve one cylinder with a factory type sleeve?

Of course you can sleeve only one cylinder if you use straight sleeves, unless the aluminium bit on the sleeves are damaged as well. Go speak to a shop that does resleeving so they can have a look at it.

Why waste the money trying to repair 1 sleeve? If your going to sleeve it just have some Darton dry sleeves installed or just go with a wet sleeve.
