Default Exhaust help (EJ8)

Well my brother has just got out of college and is going to sell me his 97' EJ8 for very cheap, its got about 160k on it but is still in good shape, its a 5 spd. silver, carbon fiber hood, si wing, si tail lights, JDM headlights, and some racing seats (cheap) but anyways it has a fart can on it, my brother put a cat back 2.5 inch exhaust with a huge fart can when he was 16, he knows its dumb but hasn't bothered to change it. I will be getting it pretty soon and I don't have a lot to spend, (i have been looking at magnaflow and flowmaster mufflers just because there somewhat cheap and it will still sound good but be not as shitty sounding. Please help me out, feel free to add other exhaust suggestions and such.

thanks everyone,
Klay

Thanks man that did give me a little better view.. only problem is, i can get a flowmaster or magnaflow for like $120, and then just wait till later on.. (I was thinking just get a muffler and fab it with the pipe and have a little turn down exhaust that you cant see)

Remember OEM-style replacements are usually like $75 installed if you just want to quiet it down completely for now.

If you want to buy oem just pull an exhaust from a junk yard or look at the marketplace for someone selling the one they just took off. You can buy just the muffler for most of those exhausts on ebay or something.

I think the 3rd one was the only decent sounding one. The 1st was kinda ricey, the 2nd was pretty loud.
