Default I know this is an ongoing topic.....

I have a 96 JDM B18C with a high idle. I changed out the IACV for a different one it helped a little bit but not much. It idles around 1500-2000rpms it does not bounce. When we installed the motor we did compression test everything came out good, changed all plugs and wires, and checked for leaks. I Since my motor is a 96 I do not have a FITV so i cant check that. I have turned my idle screw all the way to the right. I dont know what else to do...also if i unplug the IACV the idle goes down to where it should and teh check engine light comes on so that tells me that its good and i also cleaned it out. someone please help.

Do you have slack in the throttle cable? Is the TB sticking?

there really isnt much slack at all but i also don t think it is sticking either because when its cold its at like 1300 where it should be then once it warms up and i start to drive its at like 1800-2000

Have you tried cleaning out your throttle body. Sometimes all the buildup on the blade and shaft can cause it to stick.

no i have not tried this. i just got to my shop this morning and now im going to try and mess with it. if i cant find it i might just unplug the IACV leave it bolted on and plug in another IACV so i dont get a cel. because i did that just messing around the other day and it worked. There just isnt any change in cold start and warm up. its always at 800 ha
