Default Starting a new build, and had a Q

well, my car use to be turbo'd and i ended up busting a sleeve.
so i decided to go NA. the car is mostly for the road course anyway and the turbo proved to be to much.
so here is what I am working with
Ls Crank, Ls Eagle rods
ITR block
Wiseco Pistons Listed for an LS motor to be 9.3-9.8 :1
B16 head, Crower Valvetrain
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams
not quite sure on the header yet
home made ITB's

thats the basics of it. now i am trying to figure out my compression ratio, and i cant seem to find a decent compression calculator, and half the information i find on our engines is all botched together.

on wiseco's website, the pistons dish is measured to be -4ft, wtf? after 4 years of engineering i have never seen that used for any kind of fluid measurement.
also, what is the f*cking deck height of this block. from what i gathered its the same as a B18A/B.

what i am getting at is isnt this basically like an ls/vtec build? if so, then i think my comp would be around 10:1. I plan on taking off about .030 between the block and head, .015 on each. does this sound like a good idea? or should i ditch these pistons and go for something else.

the goal is 230-240 hpish, i would be happy

You need more compression to use the most of those cams, guessing 10-10.5 with the ls rods. 230-240 hp is B20 territory, stretching it for a 1.8 with stock ish compression(for a ITR)

its not quite a ls vtec since you are using a vtec block with a vtec head. if you plan on making that much power you are gonna have to get a different piston set up and alot of head work and tuning. good luck though.

Headwork and a bigger motor will get you in the 230+ HP range. I havnt seen too many 1.8L motors in that HP range with decent gas (pump or 100 octane).

not looking to go b20. but thanks for the info.
i could run some type R pistons and sell off the forged wisecos.
i am mainly looking for reliability and a good powerband for the track.
you think some type R pistons would set me good? i think my compression would be close to 12:1, i am guessing P73 pistons
any recommendations on some OEM pistons?
anyone wanna do a trade?

well, after some research, i am either going to go with pr3/pr30/p73 pistons from RS Machines.
