That's strange. I would be concerned about the head gasket sealing properly.

New block, or get it sleeved.

No sense spending money on a questionable block, right?

I would suggest welding in that damage and having the surface re-milled but the heat may distort your cylinders.

sleeveing is done at a machine shop... its is pretty expensive though... around 1k for the parts and labor. i wouldnt just weld on a block and cal it good.. to much to be lost.

thats what i was thinking. i can just add material by welding it on. but will it warp the cylinders?

Not only that but distortion of the block casting itself. My advise is sleeving the block, if you're tight on dough, then you might want to purchase another stock block. Whatever you do, NO welding, not even with a block guard.

Block guards are good for one thing only, and that is, they will help save your block from being un-resleeveable.

the thing is i dont mind nor care if it gets re-sleeved.
i just dont want those 2 cylinders to get worse when its in the car.
so will a block guard help keep it as is?

A block guard will not help you with you're problem, you're issue is going to be sealing. Like I said, you should get it sleeved if money isn't a problem.

dam, how would that happen. I'm pretty sure the head gasket wouldn't seal good on that.
