Default are my cylinders good?

saw this on my exterior cylinder walls and i was wondering if they are still good?

can u just put a block guard on it and use it like it is?
can i have it chamfered?(chamfering process)

cylinder 3

That's strange. I would be concerned about the head gasket sealing properly.

New block, or get it sleeved.

I would suggest welding in that damage and having the surface re-milled but the heat may distort your cylinders.

how do i get it sleeved? how does the old sleeves get removed and how do the new sleeves get installed???

sleeveing is done at a machine shop... its is pretty expensive though... around 1k for the parts and labor. i wouldnt just weld on a block and cal it good.. to much to be lost.

Not only that but distortion of the block casting itself. My advise is sleeving the block, if you're tight on dough, then you might want to purchase another stock block. Whatever you do, NO welding, not even with a block guard.

Block guards are good for one thing only, and that is, they will help save your block from being un-resleeveable.

A block guard will not help you with you're problem, you're issue is going to be sealing. Like I said, you should get it sleeved if money isn't a problem.

dam, how would that happen. I'm pretty sure the head gasket wouldn't seal good on that.
