Hey guys im havin problems with the parking brake light. Everytime i accelerate it goes on, and once i put on the brakes it goes away. I already checked the switch by the parking brake handle and its working so i dont know what else would be making it come on. I know its not a big problem, its just annoying so any info is greatly appreciated.

 

Is the brake fluid in the master cylinder low?

 

ive checked the brake fluid in the master cylinder and its full.

 

Do you have drums?

 

yeah sorry about leaving that out. yes i have drum brakes.

What year Civic?

Three possible causes:

1) Bad parking brake switch

2) Bad brake fluid switch or worn brake pads

3) Faulty integrated control unit

Start with (1) and (2).

 

Its a 96 civic lx with drum brakes. Ive checked the parking brake switch and its fine. When i get some time ill check the pads and fluid switch. thanks for the help!!
