Default 2 problems!!! shifter and emissions!!! :0

i have a 2000 ex, stock shifter, in it and when im in any gear it has a lot of play. maybe bad bushings or idk....lol. also im trying to get my car to pass emissions and i know that i have a p28 ecu....which is weird (OBD1)but thats how i bought it and it gets rejected and won't even hook up. i threw a 2000 si stock ecu and that threw many codes. dunno what to do about either. anyones word would help.

is it the stock SOHC motor?

IF it is then stick a 00 ex ecu into it... which is a p2p.

those cars typically have alot of play with factory shifter.. however new bushings wouldnt be a bad idea either way.. B&M or energy susupension like the type my shop sells down here in sig (shameless plug)

get under your car and slowly tighten the bolt that connects the shift linkage to the bottom of the shifter. only tighten 1/4-1/2 turn at a time because if its too tight you wont be able to get it into gear. i used 2 box wrenches to tighten it. i would pick up some energy suspension bushings as well
