Icon2 Is the EM1 or DC2 a better platform for road racing?

I currently have a stock 2000 EM1 and a 1994 DC2 and want to make one into a track/street car and the other my DD. When I say track/street, I just mean a car that is mildly built and could be driven on the street as well, i.e., bolt-on's, no custom fab. They both are in great shape mechanically and cosmetically. I could go either way on both cars to turn into a track car, so thought I'd put it to the experts on here for some advice. I think the Si is a better looking car (I know this doesn't help at the track), but in driving both, I think the DC2 handles better in stock trim and has a better raw feeling to it (perhaps because it's older). What I'd like to know is which platform is better for modifying the suspension/chassis/drivetrain for the track. Any opinions?

Thanks

The Si has a sunroof correct? Does the Integra? Might be something to consider.

Both cars came from the factory with sunroofs. The DC2 has cloth interior too. Sorry, I should've specified this before. The DC2 is a 1994 GSR with 150k miles. The EM1 is a 2000 Civic Si with 125,000 miles. I'll probably end up doing either a ITR swap or K20a2 w/LSD swap as the car and myself progress.

Thanks again.

I'd consider the steering feel as a big factor. I've never driven an EM1 but love the quick DC Integra steering rack.
A track car might be more likely to get damaged with an off course excursion, so you might want to choose the less valuable/pretty car for that reason.

you're right, the DC2 does have a tighter steering feel. It's not a huge difference from the civic, but its definitely notable. I think I'll just get a set of tires/wheels and brakes for the integra then hit the track and see how it goes.

Thanks for the input.
